Hi, just came home for a ride around the lanes of kent and what a warm
day. Had a look at the thermometer, and it read 19.5C. is this a record
for october in the south of england?

Certainly warm for late October but nothing like a record for
southern England in October. Highest here (since 1983) on the Downs in
east Surrey was 25.2°C on 1 October 1985. 29°C was recorded in
London in early October 1959, which is the UK record, I believe.
