Its amazing how all these celebrities and monied people (including the
royals) are able to preach to the relative poor about what should be done to
conserve this, or protect that.
You listened. If I were to go preaching where would I get the media
exposure? I may as well stand at Speakers Corner for all the good it
would achieve. Sounds more like sour grapes to me.
They have the means to make token gestures and pronouncements, but, behind
this front, continue in their own sweet way with their own extravagant
lifestyles.
Anyone can make a "token gesture". By no means am I wealthy, but I
manage to compost and turn-down the thermostat. Not much I agree, but a
start.
I would love to incorporate eco friendly sewage disposal, and solar heating,
etc. etc., but in my bog standard urban dwelling and with my meagre income,
it aint going to happen.
Then blame the ending of the current grant scheme for eco projects that
will not be replaced for 7 months leaving a gap that may put the
specialist manufacturers and fitters at risk.
I don't need someone like pretend farmer Charles, with his immaculate
macintosh and walking stick telling me what I should be doing, whilst
spending what was probably originally my money on his
look-what-a-good-boy-am-I schemes.
The farm estate of the Duchy of Cornwall makes a profit and returns tax
to the exchequer.
