First gale of the autumn in west Cornwall. Gusting to 45mph here, not quite
a gale, but it is on the sea front with gusts 50-60 mph, 50mph recently at
Culdrose. Thoroughly unpleasant with driving rain. The deterioration was
really rapid.
Apparently it's 'very unpleasant on the roads' according to the MetO. It's
pretty unpleasant in my back garden (due to the weather, not the general
appearance).
Graham the roads are atrocious round here tonight. Debris and water everywhere.
Apart from when we get snow I have never seen the roads so bad in wet
conditions, it's like the land cannot take any more water and every drop of rain
is running away. If this wet spell continues then it is going to get very
serious in parts of Devon.
Will.
