Default [WR] Haytor 1/11/05 (Flooding, debris, gales ...)

17.6 mm of rain here in the Exe Valley last night. The temperature has
been
rising all night (from a low of 10.5C at 21:00) and was 16.0C at 08:00.

Most of the rivers around here such as the Clyst are flooded, and poor old
Ottery St. Mary has been inundated again from the River Otter despite
their flood protection efforts.

Rivers here are actually quite low still despite recent heavy rain. Mind you
it appears that large areas of inland Devon had around 100mm more rain in
October than west Cornwall, and a lot more last night.

Sun keeps poopping out here, we're right on the western edge of the cloud
sheet. As a result today has already beaten my warmest November day (records
start 1992) Previous record 17.0 in 2001, currently 17.2.
