Can confirm, loads of fireworks went off as planned here in North
Devon, despite dire warnings of 'wash-outs'
Some drizzly rain, but nothing heavy as yet
Now i flick across to the BBC News site, and they have an article there
about warnings of flooding
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4410650.stm
Well we have 10.2 mm in the last 4 hours or so and it is still raining steadily.
OK that's diddly-squat for up here, but the moor can take no more, it's
saturated, so if we do get any heavy stuff (50mm falls) then there are going to
be big problems.
We have also had 10mm over the last 4 hours and 26mm in the last 12. It
is currently falling at 3mm per hour and does not look like easing yet.
Our land is also saturated but I am quite happy with the run-off routes
and the flood plain in the Towey valley. However, there are a lot of
places not so fortunate and I am sure there are a lot of worried people
in Wales and the West Country.
