Default Line convection ?

The cold front went through here in good fashion. Heavy, verging on
torrential, rain accompanied by squally winds and a noticeable amount of low
level shear. I was thinking line convection -

sloping over Biscay with cold, convective tops indicating some sort of line
convection

East Midlands Airport in Leicestershire (sorry Nottingham East Midlands
Airport, not in Nottingham) recorded a wind veer, but nothing very fruity -
