Absolutely dire conditions up here now.
Since 1700 5/11/05 I have had 45.5 mm (AWS).
Rain rate is presently 4.8 mm/h with a gale on the moor not helping
matters as
it is driving the water onto the ground.
Continuous moderate rain for over 12 hours now with some longer spells of
heavy
rain.
This *could* eventally be my heaviest 24 hour total I have ever measured.
Monthly total is now 131.9 mm !!! And we have only had 5 days.
At this rate a 400mm+ month is on the cards.
Given the mass of rain showing to our west on the radar
I fear the worst :-(
Will.

Downhill to the east of you Will in Chudleigh - 12 miles SSW of Exeter just
off the A38 - have just measured 27.1mm over the last 24 hours, making a
total so far this month of 90.1m, since 0900 on the 1st.. And it's still
coming down in buckets.

Hi Derek,
Thanks for that.
The Teign is flooded near Chudleigh Knighton and I guess Kinsteignton will have
problems. Flood warnings in force for the Dart and the Teign.
And yet more water is still pouring off the moor into the river system ....
We are going to have to invest in bigger raingauges I think :-)
Will.
