Dave, thanks a lot for the URL. November is patently wrong worst luck and
the winter shows generally mild. The anticyclonic northerlies predicted
for February seem mild to my eyes with air drawn from the north Atlantic
as opposed to the Arctic.

Well,November's only just started ;-).
Yes ,I agree on the Feb chart,esp after a zonal Jan.It looks like a winter
along the lines of recent ones,but may allow the odd arctic outbreak.We'll
see-I'm collecting the charts this year,
