After 12 days, my mean temperature is 8.4C, and the outlook appears to
be staying extremely mild.

.... here in Bracknell, based on an estimated climatology for 1971-2000,
I reckon as of this (Friday) morning we are some 4.5degC above average.
Remarked to my wife when I went out around 0745 that it seemed like a
'spring' morning more akin to late March - the birds (Chaffinch and
Sparrows) were in full ' dawn-chorus ' mode in the trees: quite
remarkable - cut the lawn a couple of days ago.

If the GFS were to be right
(see

then some remarkable temperature possible (given sunshine &/or
appropriate topography) ... but as Will has pointed out elsewhere, the
GFS hasn't performed as well as some others in recent days, so not to be
taken too literally.

Martin.
