For some reason, I'm unable to view it (just my computer I think) so could
someone give an outline of what Joe thinks?

Thanks,

Interesting point/counterpoint today from Joe *******i and Ken Reeve's.
Apparently someone named Joe from the UK (one of ours, here or TWO) poses
the question what to JB about our coming winter. Joe then gives -to me
anyhow- interesting info on UKMO marketing strategy in the States.
Anyhow have a gander

Firstly the email to JB was from a chap called Greg. Oh by the way I've just
tried my own link and it worked perfectly in Mozilla so try the internet
explorer link.

Anyhow JB was saying how he liked what the metO were doing with the NAO
stuff. He also said that ukmo where marketing their model ukmo over the GFS
as a superior product. Ken Reeve's made the point that UKMO seemed to be
pushing products in the states as they try to break into the market there?
Apparently the GFS is funded by Congress so there were some tensions running
beneath the surface.
I found it interesting in respect of the some of the stuff UKMO seem to be
drumming up, ie. this stuff with Amber alerts and the severe winter
forecast. What with this and the fact they are controlled by Labour
ministers there you have possibly the driving forces for hyperbolic
forecasting.
