Any explanation as to what this might be? Is it just coincidence or is
it something to do with my equipment setup or exposure?

Could it be that the sun just catches the screen at that time?

I don't think so - the sun's been out all day with not a cloud in the sky,
so the screen should have been in sunshine from shortly after the sun
rose. I will have to pay attention to the exposure to the sun next time
I'm at home at 1:45pm!

Ever been dazzled by the reflection of the sun on a window on a building or
parked car?
Perhaps, at that time, the sun is just in the right position so that the sun
reflects off a window or shiny surface directly on your sensor?
