Received yesterday a very serious letter from a 'regional MOD' source
entitled 'Severe Weather Warning'. Naturally dropped what I was doing
to see what action I was going to be asked to sort.
I could scarcely believe what I read which I think I can type more or
less word for word.

(In bold) HMG and the House of Lords Energy Committee are both
warning of severe weather conditions this winter. Some Meteorologists
are warning of very low temperatures - perhaps down to 1963 values

There then followed a 'useful' list of twelve sensible things to do
etc etc.

Anyway, I sent an e mail to the originator asking who the 'some
Meteorologists' were, since this was news to me
