Default Autumn 2005

It certainly has not been a record breaker here. My mean has been 9.63.
I have data for stations in the Aberdeen area dating back to the 19th
century which I have attempted to homogenise to account for changes in
site and urbanisation at the present site at Dyce which has caused a
large increase in minimum temps since the early 1970s. This series is
likely to have a mean around 0.25C warmer than mine.

The warmest Autumn was 1945 with a mean of 10.57 while the coldest was
1952 with only 6.97. The warmest 10-year average was 9.54 from 1995 to
2004 which represents about 1C warming in the past 100 years. However
the bulk of the warming occurred by the 1950s. Average for 1953 to 1962
was 9.37.
