Haytor is quite representative of the true air mass at 1000 feet asl.
Lower down it may be colder due to cold air being trapped, like in the Exe
Valley for example. I wonder if freezing rain is on the cards now?

Here in the Exe Valley, the temperature is now rising quickly after a very
chilly start, currently -1.1C at 11:00. The frost is disappearing off the
cars and grass as I write. As this rate it should be above freezing in 20
minutes or so.
