Hi Will, Frost is melting here now under cloudy sky... Bad Sign??

It is for lowland and coastal Devon.
My temperature is -0.2 deg C and I'm still white up here.
The forecast 850hPa temperature at precipitation onset according to the GFS
is -5 deg C. which at your altitude would give a temperature of circa 2-3 deg C,
too warm for snow in this situation due to rising dewpoints unless it turns
heavy and wet-bulb freezing level lowers. At 300m asl temperature at onset is
likely to be circa 1 deg C falling to freezing in steadier precipitation. So I
would say that it is an upland snow situation only in Devon, however, lowland
areas may see a short spell of sleet or snow before it turns to rain.
