Pressure is still falling slowly here in Haytor, but the
sky is brightening and radar shows little advance east of precip. Also
noticed that MetO web forecast now has sleet for SW rather than the
rain symbol shown earlier. Mind you temperature is creeping up with an
east wind, now -0.3 deg C at 1045 GMT. Haytor is quite representative
of the true air mass at 1000 feet asl. Lower down it may be colder due
to cold air being trapped, like in the Exe Valley for example. I
wonder if freezing rain is on the cards now? I'd love to see a
tephigram of my area :-) Anyway no doubt the precip. will eventually
arrive and it still looks like the heavier stuff may be in the warmer
air.
Passed on to my sister staying at Ilsington, Will. She's been peppering me
with weather forecast requests!

Richard according to GFS Haytor should see a spell of snow this afternoon,
turning to rain this evening. She will need to get some altitude though,
Isington will be borderline for lying snow. Hay Tor some 200m higher will
obviously be better.
Good luck!
Will.
