Yes, that's just the word I was looking for! It eased off then
stopped after an hour or so and now the temperature is up to +1.7 but
the snow is *still* scrunchy at 100% cover due to the frozen base.
Depth is about 16 mm.
But unless the sky clears, it will be gone by morning
