I'd rate 2005 as a 8/10

February only delivered a few flakes (my only flakes of the entire
winter)

May Night-time Storm - suddenly springing up over the south-west and
taken completely by surprise at 11pm - very high lightning activity,
but almost a dry storm, just a few spots of thundery rain

24th and 28th June Storms were excellent and very active.
I got excellent sound recordings of the thunder, and some very close
C-G strikes

25 November - Heavy Settling Snow Showers - the quickest i'd ever seen
the landscape turn white. With the showers rolling down the Irish Sea
and picking up moisture

29 December - Short lived surprising snowfall, with very large wet
flakes giving a temporary dusting
