They didn't at Bolton, with a sugar dusting of snow but then the under
soil heating had also failed and the pitch was rock hard. At least
that match was cancelled at a reasonable time, about 1500 for an
evening kick off. We, erm, "slowed down" the rig for the TV coverage
when we spotted all these suits in the middle of the pitch looking
worried just after 1400. B-)
Newcastle would have been fully rigged and ready to go by the time the
match was cancelled. Talking to people who where there it was a bit
slippy under foot outside the ground and little/no road treatment had
taken place.
