Yes, coldest day of the winter here in Penzance, and it certainly feels it.
The first real, easterly of the winter. (It's never very cold with a
northerly here).

The wind is just off the sea, so the temperature is now hovering near 5
degrees, probably similar on Scilly. But as you say, it's 2 or 3 degrees
colder just inland, or where the winds off-shore, like St. Mawgan (which is
also well above SL).
