German TV news this evening showed pictures of accidents on icy roads in
north and east Germany. In the state of Saxony-Anhalt west of Berlin some
schools were closed because of severe glazed icing.

German TV weather forecast said Monday is likely to be the coldest day in
Germany with day temperatures generally below freezing. It will probably
be less cold on the following days but the frost might return at the end of
the week.
