Default [WR] Dartington, South Hams - a remarkable January day

Not only is the dryness of this winter proving most interesting, but also
the lack of wind, at least in the SW.

Since my VP was installed on 3 December '05 the max gust recorded has been
21KT ! The mean speed through December '05 was 0.6KT, and the mean speed so
far this January is 1KT ! Now my site is reasonably sheltered, and the
anemometer is not high enough (~2 metres up only) but still this is quite
significant I think.

I know that it's been a very quiet month, but it's hard to believe that
the mean wind speed could be quite that low. Are you sure that the
anemometer is working correctly?
