I really dont understand the logic
behind US govt. 2 days back one of the scientist in NASA revealed that
he has been restricted by the govt not to disclose the seriousness
about the studies about global warming and greenhouse gases impact. Why
they do this..? My question is why the govt wanted to hide these info
from people..? What is their benefit since the problem is for everyone
including them..?

The logic is quite simple and is as follows:

1) They consider that the battle to prevent global warming has already
been lost, so fighting it is futile.
2) Informing the people that they have a starring role in an extinction
event is considered by that government to be unwise.
3) The benefit is clear - no unrest or panic among the population as it
quietly meets its demise.
