can some one tell me the type of weather (compared with the Uk) one can
expect in Budapest in the first part of April. Do we have to pack worm

Having a more "continental" climate, at that time of the year it could
be either warmer or colder than the UK. Given that it's further south
than the UK, the former is probably more likely.
I lived in eastern Austria for a time (admittedly a few years ago when
the weather did more or less what it had done for generations, since all
the old wives tales still worked, don't know if this still applies), not
far from the Hungarian border. By April the grass will be green again
and the trees breaking buds, but it won't be very warm, especially at
night - in the orchards they light fires to keep the frost off the
blossom. Budapest will be warmer, I expect, than the countryside, and
you can always go and warm up in the magnificent thermal baths.
