[WR} Dartington, South Hams - yuk, yuk, yuk...
The wrong side of the Tamar, today at least! We'll get our own back in the
Spring when the first 'Spanish Plume' event occurs and Penzance is fog bound
all day with a day max of +12 deg. C and Dartington basks in +20 deg. C
after cloud clears mid-morning!
The rain actually ceased for 2 hours this afternoon enabling me to get loads
of wood cut for the coming week. The prospect of hard frosts now concerns me
because blossom has burst on the Mimosa trees, gooseberry buds have bursts
(but they will be ok, a hardy lot) and buds on apricot and peach trees are
just about at the point of opening. I fear -6 deg. C (possibly a little
lower) may be on the cards when the gradient drops out mid-late next week.
Never mind, that life!
Currently throwing it down ..rain rate 7.4mm/hr (4.4mm so far today..but the
wood is nicely tucked up).
Have fun!
Richard.

Last night's min -0.9 deg. C
Precip so far today 2.2mm
After a cold, misty, grey start we have had a morning of continuous
light to
mod RADZ. The temperature has slowly climbed to +5.6 C (present) but it
feels very cold, damp and rather unpleasant. Can't remember a day like
this
for a long time! Satellite imagery implies that some drier conditions
may
occur this afternoon with the ourside chance of some breaks in the
monotonous STSC sheet. Not a good day for visitors to S. Devon!"
Richard.
Oh I don't know, depends on what they expect at the end of February!
Not been that bad up here, continuous light to moderate rain and
temperature
hovering around +3 deg C in occasional mist and fog. So cold and wet
underfoot
yes, but heck wait till tomorrow :-)
Saw some visitors walking down our lane earlier, they seemed in good
spirits,
all wrapped up and laughing and joking with children in tow.
Currently 9.2, sunny spells, very light winds.
A good day for visitors in West Cornwall
(Where is this Devon place, in England somewhere?)
