True, just that the deepest instability and coldest air is expected further
north at that point. There could be some wintry precip. in the SE though as

Probably not. As ever I don't take those maxes too literally, there is the
facility to modify the 5 day output when required but this takes time and is
at the discretion of those on duty. The EC ensemble plot for Canterbury
indicates a max. of around +3 or 4°C which may be more representative.

Whatever happened to quality control :-)

These automated 5-day forecasts are disseminated quite widely. They
appear on the WMO website under the heading "Official Weather Forecasts"
with the Met Office logo on display. Currently the London forecast on
the WMO website predicts max temps in London of 7C for Sun/Mon/Tue while
for Norwich it shows 6/6/5C for the same days. Out of the 13 locations
on the list snow is currently forecast for only one of them. That is for
Exeter on Wednesday.
