Just come back from evening recce.
Snow down to 180m asl. Trees all white. 2cm at home accumulating quickly in
continuous light to moderate snow.
Snow settled on old snow higher up giving an estimated depth of 6cm but
difficult to tell as it is scouring and starting to drift in the strengthening
wind.
People were already sledging on the top slopes in the fog and sledging
conditions look to be perfect with fresh snow on a firm rather icy base.
Temperature started to rise a little now at -0.2 deg C but any rise above
freezing will be temporary with colder air to the east advecting in.
Dartmoor - the snow capital of England (OK only for today, but I'm milking this
:-) )
I await the hordes of tourists at the weekend VBG
Will.
