Would you say the snow depths will remain as you suggest all weekend

Depends how much sunshine we get. The south slopes of Hay Tor melt quite quickly
in strong sunshine (and we are a long way south in the UK). If it stays quite
cloudy then depths will only go down a centimetre or two. Having said that I
haven't a clue how much is up there now, given the strength of the wind I would
estimate 7 cms with deeper patches to 15 cms but just a thin icy covering on
slopes fully exposed to the wind. However, it looks like that any visitors
coming up to the moors this weekend to see snow and perhaps do a bit of sledging
won't be disappointed, just don't come expecting alpine-like conditions :-)

Apres sledge anyone in the Warren House Inn :-)

Will.
