March can produce some horrendous weather though in the SW as the seas are so
cold.

By contrast, In central southern England march seems to be often one of
the most settled and driest months of the year. A mixture of dry/cloudy
and springlike warm spells is typical, with only short periods of
changeable weather. April is normally more changeable than March, if
sunnier.
