[WR] langtoft update

Frequent snow showers this morning added to the cover here, but they
eased sufficiently in the afternoon to allow a slight thaw especially
on verges and pavements.
We have 5cm level snow, with some minor drifts even in our valley
location, up to 30cm around the house.
Temp reached 1.8 with a min of -0.9 but the effect of the wind really
exacerbates that. Currently it's -0.2 and everything is freezing
solid. Dew point -7.
The rain gauge collected 6.1mm in the thaw, but there's still ice in
the gauge which can melt tomorrow!
I dread to think what conditions are like on the Eastern North York
Moors, one of my colleagues who lives on the southern edge at around
200m reported 6 inches late morning.
Once again the road out of the village was closed this morning,
mainly as a result of lorries trying to get up the hill. At Driffield
the road closed to snow signs are still up, but it will be somewhere
just to the North of us.
Well I can confirm nothing here at Hull, save from a few minutes of flakes
gently drfiting on the wind. Looking at the showers as I was having lunch
with my sister, it was clear to see they were moving NW-SE...
