Continual Autumn

Hello
Does anyone think that over the past decade or so, all we've had is three
months of late autumnal weather: Cool daytime temps, slight frosts at
night, and the odd bit of snow.
I long for a proper winter, of snow and ice lingering for weeks maybe even
months, with ice on the inside of windows.
Though I don't think we'll get another proper winter again with global
warming. :-(

I wouldn't mind if it was consistent - if we had proper cold winters every
year people would learn to cope, fit winter tyres, learn to drive on
ice/snow etc.
At the moment because it happen so rarely the whole transport system grinds
to a halt with just a few flakes. I couldn't get over the A57 Snake Pass to
Manchester on Tuesday night, and there was no more than a couple of cm of
snow, but it had frozen solid, become glazed over and polished. A couple of
cars/lorries spun in the road and that was that - road blocked.
