Default Donations to Florida Victims

why bother donating when you could be looting?

If you are considering making a monetary donation to a charity to help
support Florida Hurricane victims, please consider NOT donating to the
Red Cross.

I live in Port Charlotte, Florida and I can tell you from Experience
that the Red Cross has been little to no help here at all. Their
presence in the county is heavy, but it's entirely concentrated in areas
where there is considerable media coverage.

The Salvation Army, on the other hand, has been in all of the
neighborhoods providing clothing and blankets. And they've been at
every major shopping center providing free water, ice and groceries.

Of course, giving anything to any charity is always a good thing, but my
experience with the Red Cross through three seperate disasters has shown
me that victims interests and well being are NOT in their best interest.
