Here's a hint: LA and San Diego aren't the only sunny places, and the
polution problem is geographical, not because of the sun.

Air usually stagnates because of heat, which is caused by the sun. Ever
wonder why clean air action days happen durring sunny periods?

Sunny does not equal heat,

True, but compared to cloudy days, it's more likely to be warmer/hotter.

4) Having to hear 'Oh, it's such a wonderful day out' all the time
Man, what a grouch.

Not at all. I like sunny days. I like rainy days. I like a balance. But
when I hear mindless societal programming repeated in a
"rain=bad/sun=good" stance repeatedly from sun lemmings, that's irritating
to no end.

Oh, so someone enjoying sunny days is "societal programming" and enjoying
overcast days isn't?

No, gushing on and on about it like mindless dolts *IS* societal programming.
Like I said, I like sunny day, I also like rainy days. But our society is so
screwed up that people can't just accept the weather the way it is - they have
to walk around like zombies and say "Oh, what a great day it is today!" all the
friggin' time, yet they don't say anything about rainy days and/or whine about it.

You watch. When this unusual spell ends, everyone is going to whine like a bunch
of dolts about "no more sunny weather". Can't they just shut up about it? Go
enjoy the sunny weather. Just don't make me have to enjoy you enjoying it.

Going against your own physiology and developing a taste for something that
is detrimental IS programming, so that actually describes people in the
northwest, not the southwest.

I'm not going against my physiology. Like I've said several times already, I
like sunny days, and I like rainy days. But I don't go around gushing like an
idiot about sunny days and denying the rainy days exist. In fact, I'm more
likely to like rainy days because I value the things it brings more than the
sun. But I don't have to make everyone else endure droning on about 'how nice'
or 'how bad' the weather is.

months out of the year EVERY YEAR.

Well, you can be in denial all you want, but Portland is one of the worst
places for mold allergies. It doesn't mean everyone has them, but it also
means that not everyone has pollen allergies, so at best it is a wash.

Most people have pollen allergies - me included. Alderwood is NASTY right now
and I've been suffering for the last 2 weeks.

8) Neighbor kids with loud car stereos with their windows down
Man, you are really stretching.

Come live on my block for a while. No stretching about it.

I never had that problem where I lived in Portland, so your claim is a
stretch as far as my experience goes.

I guess you must've lived in neighborhoods where teens couldn't afford cars.
I've lived here for 35 years and in many, many neighborhoods since the 80s.
Again, these dolts will go outside to wash their cars and turn their stereos up
to the point where I can hear it clearly through closed windows. I don't get
that when it's cold.

9) More people outdoors late at night and keep others awake
Oh the horror! People having fun.

Inconsiderate people making enough noise to keep their neighbors awake is
OK, huh?

If it's before 10 pm, that's the way it goes. After 10 you can call the
police if you want, or ask them to turn it down.

Yeah, but if it were raining I wouldn't have to be woken up by drunken partiers
on their back deck at 2AM, now, would I?

People who don't smoke in their houses generally do so all year around.
Blaming your neighbor's smoke on sunny weather is pretty lame and thin
skinned.

Not at all. Sunny weather == more likely to be outside == I can't open my
windows without smelling that horrid crap. Same thing with lawnmower exhaust.

10) Increased costs in electricity and water
Not exactly dependant on sunny weather.

The word is "dependent", and you will find a definite correlation between
extended periods of sunny weather and increase electricity and water
costs.

You will also find it on extended periods of cold weather. You are also
ignoring that cold weather brings more fireplace smoke, and you don't seem
to be able to handle smoke when it's warm.

I can't handle cigarette smoke (and I don't like fireplace smoke, either). Most
everyone in the neighborhood I live in have gas fireplaces (read that, no
smoke). 4th Of July is horrible, too...

Man, you are one dreary little *******. Do the lights automatically dim
when you walk into the room?

Yet another mindless sun worshipping drone who has no mental ability to
fathom the possibility that not everyone in the universe thinks sunny
weather is overwhelmingly good.

No, I like breaks from all kinds of weather. I was reacting to an idiot that
was going into hystrionics over the thought of one year of drought and went
out of his way to come up with ridiculous examples on why he hates good
weather.

"good" Is a subjective term. My issue is the way people react to it, not sunny
weather itself.

Please make a note to your self that he didn't say one good thing
about sunny weather, and I was only pointing out how ridiculous he was
being. I never said that sunny weather was overwhelmingly good, but I guess
you and the other guy have to make dishonest exagerations to make it look
like you have anything going for you. You both need to get a little sun.

I just don't understand the overwhelming urge for people to have to mention it
all the time.
