That westward jog was part of a west northwest trochoidal wobble. The
average motion has been WNW towards the area south of Jamaica. Ivan
looks like a catagory 5 storm tonight and is likely starting to create
his own high pressure dome. I would not be surprised if some of the
models start pointing their tracks towards Louisiana soon.
