Just got back from Virginia Water. We had a slight rain shower there

at 4 pm
local, and it looked quite dark to the east when we left at 6 pm. Also

shows
up well on the radar as a NE-SW line of echoes over SE England.

.... looks like we have just (up to 18Z) missed out, but as you say
Bernard, a close-run thing he your observation ties in with my
sighting of apparently deeper convective clouds to my east or
east-northeast late this afternoon.

Maximum today 16.1degC .. highest for this month (so far), and despite
the cloud cover, with light winds (only temporarily Bft 3 or 4 as deeper
convection initiated), it was a most acceptable day for April.

Martin.
