Default Hello, Orlando? You're not going to believe this...

And so if people stay out until traffic lights are
repaired retailers will go "broke"? What a
convenient assumption on your part.

As opposed to your assumption that waiting until the
mess is cleaned up isn't going to cause problems for
an economy already badly damaged, I think mine is
the more rational guess.

Blaming the problem on "tourists" is
just naive.

As if that were what I was doing.

Yes, that is exactly what you were doing.

Besides, most of the people to whom I
refer are just here to go surfing.

And continuing to do. You are very bad at keeping
your lying consistent if you can't manage to
transition from one sentence to the next in the same
paragraph without tripping over yourself.

They contribute nothing to the economy.

Their cars consume no fuel, their stomachs go unfed,
their bodies require no shelter, they buy no film
and develop no photographs, they eschew souveniers?

You are a _really_ unskilled liar.

The carrying capacity of those roads, in the
present circumstances, is probably less than 10%
of normal,

How little you know about growth in Florida.

Why do you assume that "growth in Florida" has any
different effects than "growth anywhere?" Florida's
roads were a mess in 1966 when I was there, in 1974
when I was there, I'm sure that hasn't changed in
2004. And how would that rebut my claim that the
roads are not currently up to carrying their normal
traffic load at normal levels of inconvenience, in
any case?

Under the best circumstances our roads are backed
up.

That is a truism almost everywhere in the world.
Roads get constructed with money begrudgingly
authorized by taxpayers only when the traffic
situation gets absolutely unbearable. They are
_never anywhere on earth_ kept always with carrying
capacities five years ahead of the demand, as would
be appropriate to make commuting pain-free and
robust in the face of accidents.

It is simply not too much to ask that people stay
away until the place gets put back together.

Yes, it is, in large part because it is not
"outsiders who haven't stayed away", but "locals
(clueless goobers _exactly_ like you) who are
completely informed about the problems, but _still_
refuse to keep off the roads until the roads are fit
to use, and then whine about the results as if it
were someone else's fault than their own" that are
the proximate cause of the problems about which you
are kvetching.

As you seem to have abandoned all rational thought
on the issue, I'll just ignore any further responses
from you, in my long-running campaign to let the
invincibly ignorant of the Net find other playmates
than me.
