Default Old hurricane moving back and forth across the Gulf of Mexico

Hello,

Quick question:

Can anyone here tell me which hurricane this was and what year? I swear
I remember seeing a satellite loop of it on TV some years ago. At first
it looked like it would hit LA, then it moved towards FL, then it
reversed course and went back to LA!

I looked at all the paths available at wunderground.com from 1960
forward but could not find it.
