Default Student Career Experience Program Position

Want to gain paid work experience while you pursue a college degree?
Want an enhanced opportunity for a permanent position in the National
Weather Service?

Consider the Meteorological Development Laboratory’s (MDL) Student
Career Experience Program (SCEP). MDL is a National Weather Service
laboratory in Silver Spring, MD.
We offer full time employment to college students who are enrolled in a
meteorology, computer science, information technology, physics, or
mathematics degree program. This program is for U.S. citizens only.

The SCEP is a CO OP program tailored to students who desire to alternate
full time paid employment with full time study. Students are typically
paid at the GS 4 level (over $25,500
/year) and must be able to commit to a year of work at MDL. The 12
months of work need not be done all at once. However, the minimum
length of your first tour is 6 months. The SCEP includes an option to
convert a student to a permanent National Weather Service employee
following graduation.

If this sounds like a program that interests you, e mail me at
. Additional information on the SCEP, including
how to apply, can be found at the following web site:
