Around about lunchtime today I spotted a pall of black smoke to the W
(from Kenilworth) spreading out under an inversion.

The pall of smoke spreading NE from SE Birmingham is clearly visible
on the 250m Modis image from the Terra satellite, despite the edge
distortion, with the red square marking the fire (large download).

The fire was in a plastics factory in Shirley.
