Unlurking, briefly.

We were just west of Newcastle this pm, at Belsay, a stately home up a long
and little used road, and I was briefly worried that we might have a
slippery drive back. Snowed for about an hour, 14:30 to 15:30 BST.

The fields were white with very wet snow. The car thermometer (which seems
to roughly agree with forecast temps through the year) read +2

Driving back down the A1 the higher parts of the Tyneside connurbation had
plainly had more snow than we had at Belsay.
