Rainfall radar
http://www.metoffice.com/weather/eur...animation.html
Rain moves away from northern England early on Saturday afternoon.
Thunderstorms in East Anglia in the afternoon. Heavy showers
develop over Wales in the afternoon and move into the Midlands and
SE England in the evening. Showers in the north of Scotland.
"Rain moves away from northern England early on Saturday afternoon."
No it bloody didn't.
Woke to heavy rain 0700-0800, followed by drizzle most of the morning.
Keeping an eye on the radar suggested a dry afternoon in prospect as
the block of rain drifted away to the east. So I set to some work in
Mum's garden. Constant light drizzle, becoming periods of light rain
1500-1700. None of which showed up on the radar _at all_.
i had to spend the afternoon playing bowls in a persistent moderate drizzle,
which had spells of light rain interspersed. Rotten day. I expected it to
last all afternoon, so I was prepared for it...
