Default Cold in N England - Copley 6.3°C max !

UK max. temps on Saturday http://makeashorterlink.com/?L19F14A1D

Copley 6.3°C, Shap 7.3°C, Loftus 7.4°C, Spadeadam and Bingley 7.6°C,
Warcop Range 7.7°C, Glen Ogle 8.0°C.

Thorney Island 17.9°C, Langdon Bay 18.1°C, Heathrow 18.2°C, London MO
18.4°C, Gravesend 18.5°C, Herstmonceux 18.7°C, Wattisham 19.0°C, Manston
19.1°C, Great Malvern 19.4°C, Shoeburyness 20.0°C.

Not particularly cold and even slightly warmer than average in the
south, but strangely it *felt* unconfortably cool sitting out. Contrast
April 22nd when temperatures were similar but it felt not just warm,
but hot. I'd imagine the main factor here is to do with adjustment to
higher temperatures, and is the downside of early warm or hot spells;
though maybe the airmass was a factor too? Relative humidity higher?

What we need now is a spell of cold but bright northerlies (like we had
in early April) with temps below 15C, so next time the max climbs above
that figure it will feel warm again!
