well I was away on the South coast but on returning I had
recorded 7mm here, which I consider to be substantial for here, and as you
know only about three miles from West Horndon.

On waking up near West Horndon this morning I was struck by how much
less it seemed to have rained. Was the heavy rain in Romford very
localised?

Incidentally due to the weather many (though not all) races were won by
dogs in the outside "5" and "6" traps -
