Less than that here (though I haven't measured it yet) but quite
a spell of rain so "fine" I'd call it drizzle. Maybe the droplets were
too small to be detected by radar.

Definitely not drizzle. It was sufficiently heavy to cause splashing in the
puddles and someone at Benfleet (not far away) said it had been "pouring all
day". Most peculiar



I suspect a radar was out of the network and more distant radars were filling in
from longer range and looking over the top of the rain.
