Neil,

My site (Vantage Pro screen) is 5ft up a pole also in a flower bed, and to
be honest is fairly sheltered with a high conifers at one end of the garden
and 6ft shrubs.fences on the other two.
I tend to get high readings when there is a northerly drift.

The anemomether is about 20ft up, and gives very ambiguous readings when the
wind is in the S-SW ( think it gets turbulence off the house) - thats why I
dont connect it up for live data and often do not use it - but having fallen
off a ladder when it was on the roof, I dont intend to go up there again!

One of lifes compromises..that said, my other readings fit in well with the
surrounding reports - and Heathrow is a good bench mark - If my maximum is
higher than the airports summats up!
