Default Alina Jenkins' roller-coaster weather forecast!

Agreed. It's rubbish, this weather forecasting as
entertainment. Alina Jenkins is just another identikit weather girlie
of the type currently fashionable and has no background whatever in
weather. Shame on the airheads who suggested this and on her for
going along with it. But none of us watches this rubbish, any, or do
we? I always feel let down, insulted even, by TV weather forecasts
since the advent of the Stupid Graphics.

I agree with the general comments about novelty weather forecasts if
that means information or understanding is lost but I don't think
Alina is "just another identikit weather girlie".

As an effective weather presenter, Alina beats most of the others,
irrespective of their meteorological knowledge and background; and she
has proven to be highly adaptable in new situations (the new graphics
system). She has been using Atlantic isobar/frontal charts and has
presented proper wind speed/direction indicators from week one of the
new system. She demonstrated from the start of the new system that she
has acquired a good understanding of everything "meteorological" that
a weather presenter needs to know.

However, taking part in this roller-coaster gimmick has not helped her
image among weather enthusiasts so let's hope it is the one and only
time such a thing is attempted - World Record or not. I did enjoy the
bit o' fun on this occasion - although it seriously degraded the
quality of the actual forecast.
