BRACKNELL (TAWFIELD)
0900 SSE F3 30km - 1/AC 3/AC 5/CI T242D162
RMK: 1Ac cas (actually almost a 'trace')~100: this latter was a much
more definite element of the medium levels up to about an hour ago, 3Ac
(thinning/increasingly broken)~120 (the retreating western edge of a
multi-level sheet that dominated the sky earlier), 5Ci, thick sheaves
etc., ~250/280. Given the cloud character earlier and now, I guess a
well-marked upper trough/front has passed overhead (from the west), and
the marked descent to the rear has killed off the mid-level activity.
For a time around 06Z, we had 1Cu med~060 development, but that rapidly
fizzled.
[ OVERNIGHT DATA (18Z - 09Z):
screen min: 17.2 grass min: 14.7 precipitation: NIL [24hr total: 00.0
mm]
other data: Probably going to be the best part of the day - high
humidity, but not (yet) too warm. ]=
1200 SSE F3 30km - 1/AC 6/CI T297D173
RMK: [CAVOK & COTRA] - tr Ac~180 (showing slight tendency to
'turrets'), 2Cc~250, within, or separate from (can't be too sure) 6Ci
(multi-level + COTRA)~250/300. Warmest day of the year so far (easily
beating previous highs), and with strong sunshine, should creep up a bit
more.=
