For Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England high confidence (80%) that
the week will be changeable with rain at times and sunny intervals. Temperatures
near average (15C-20C) but occasionally cool in moderate to fresh SW to NW
winds.
Rest of England and Wales, moderate confidence (60%) for a mainly dry week with
high pressure close by. Some rain, but mostly showery with spells of sunshine.
Warm at times with temperatures 20C-25C, warmest in the SE where 27C is possible
on the odd day. Thunderstorms persisting on the near continent and 20% chance
that these could affect the SE at times later in the week. Winds generally light
with sea breezes.
Prospects for haymaking:
Chance of 4 days completely dry weather at any one spot in England and Wales is
low at 30%. Scotland and Northern Ireland - zero.
