Shotover Hill (46km) clearly visible (although not visible clearly,
if you see what I mean). Main cloud layer barely above the
Sc/Ac boundary. Blue sky still visible close to eastern horizon -
it was sunny till about 0730z

How's the Lion looking these days? (my ancestral abode is not far from
you,
in Flamstead)

Shotover Hill (46km) where is this hill ??

sorted 5 miles east of Oxford, blimey some views one has up there Phil,
suprised you cant see the ghastley grey council office block which
blots the Aylesbury vale landscape :-(

You got it. Fortunately Aylesbury and MK are not prominent from
here. I'm looking forward to some really clear maritime-polar air
come autumn and winter to find out just how far it's possible to see
from the top of the Downs (about 200m away). I'm working on a
horizon map as we speak.
