A new record 24hr total for me here. A massive 83mm (I came home from work
in a cloud burst at 6.35am and the gauge was already full, and I was unable
to get out and empty it for 35mins)

Not taking the missed rain into account, this really was a once in a life
time even here for sure. I hear Bristol (11miles S/W away) had 73mm and that
puts it in the top 4 highest 24hr totals sine the 1800's !!!

many of the local roads were impassable and man hole covers were some 12" in
the air with water coming out of them. Just 3 miles away at parents house
the 24hr total was 71mm, more in line with Bristol.
